Procore Technologies Launches Partnership with Habitat for Humanity

A senior real estate agent at D.R. Horton, Taylor Tomnitz has worked at the firm’s Los Angeles-based office since 2011. In 2016, she was recognized as one of the company’s top sales agents. Dedicated to giving back to the community, Taylor Tomnitz works outside of the office in support of organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity will now have unlimited access to a suite of software programs for construction, thanks to a recently launched partnership with Procore Technologies. Based in Carpinteria, California, Procore develops various cloud-based applications to help construction professionals with project management, quality and safety control, and financial accounting.

The company launched the partnership with Habitat for Humanity through its charitable initiative, Procore.org. The technologies will help Habitat better manage construction costs and scheduling on its new-build and renovation projects. Currently, Habitat is using Procore tools at over 40 local offices, but the organization plans to make them available to Habitat groups worldwide.

Paws in the City Seeks Volunteers to Help Run the Nonprofit

Since 2011, Taylor Tomnitz has worked for D.R. Horton in Los Angeles, California, as its senior real estate agent. She is the top sales agent for the L.A./Ventura Division in regards to terms or units sold and total dollars. A former resident of Texas, Taylor Tomnitz remains connected to and supports Paws in the City founded in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

A nonprofit, no-kill organization, Paws in the City seeks to end the overpopulation and neglect of cats and dogs in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Almost 95 percent of its revenue goes toward training, boarding, and medical expenses. With a staff consisting of more than 150 volunteers, the organization strives to find loving homes for every adoptable animal.

Because it is volunteer-run, Paws in the City needs people to fill numerous positions. All volunteers who work with the animals must be at least 18 years of age. Some available volunteer spots include:

* Transporters. People in this volunteer role take dogs and cats between boarding locations and veterinary offices. On weekends, they drive animals to adoption events.

* Fosters. As one of the most important positions, fosters open up their residences to dogs and cats and bring the animals to adoption events. They pay for food and look after the animals.

* Fundraisers. These people work with sponsors to put together professional-quality fundraising events to raise money for the nonprofit.

A Look at D.R. Horton’s Luxury Single-Family Homes at The Faircrest

Taylor Tomnitz earned her BA in history from Loyola Marymount University and followed her father, former D.R. Horton CEO Donald J. Tomnitz, into the real estate business. Since 2011, she has worked as a senior real estate agent for D.R. Horton, the premier home builder in the country. Taylor Tomnitz sold 60 single-family homes in 13 months in The Faircrest development to become a top sales agent in the company.

Located between La Cienega and Fairfax in the heart of Los Angeles, The Faircrest is close to food, shopping, entertainment, and transportation. D.R. Horton has three home plans within the community, ranging in size from 2,613 to 2,894 square feet and four to five bedrooms. Each home features an open floor plan; a two-car garage; an upstairs bonus room; and a chef’s kitchen complete with stainless-steel GE Monogram appliances, a six-burner gas stove with griddle, a 30-inch electric oven, and a 48-inch hood.

Homes in the community were priced from the high $1.3 millions to the low $1.5 millions. All 60 D.R. Horton homes within The Faircrest were sold in a little over a year.

Enriching Lives with Affordable Housing

A senior real estate agent at D.R. Horton in Los Angeles, Taylor Tomnitz was the company’s top sales agent in 2016 for both the number of homes sold and the total dollar volume. Mixing business with philanthropy, Taylor Tomnitz supports Habitat for Humanity, an organization with a vision of helping every person have a decent place to live.

Many American families are in need of affordable, quality housing. More than half of all Americans admit to making trade-offs such as reducing health care coverage at one point in their lives to pay the rent or mortgage. The following family is an example.

Evan lived with his wife Kittie and their two sons in the San Francisco Bay Area. Both Evan and Kittie are teachers who were paying up to 60 percent of their income on rent before Kittie decided to stay home to take care of their children.

Evan and Kittie’s home had mold problems, which complicated their son Sean’s allergies. Evan was unsure of how he could continue working at the school and pay his rent.

Luckily, Evan came across a Habitat for Humanity flier and reached out to the organization. The family qualified for Habitat’s affordable housing program.

Evan now lives with his family in a rehabbed home in East Palo Alto. The home’s mortgage is affordable, and Sean’s allergy symptoms have improved.

Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church Asks Volunteers to Help

As the daughter of former D.R. Horton chief executive officer Donald J. Tomnitz, Taylor Tomnitz works as a senior real estate agent at the Los Angeles-based firm. Due to her strong work ethic, she has become the company’s top sales agent for its luxury line called Emerald Homes. When not at work, Taylor Tomnitz supports several Dallas-based affiliations, including Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.

Started after the end of World War II, Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church invites congregants to worship God through liturgy and music. People come to hear about Christian faith, find supportive Christian friends, and find comfort through God. The church currently serves about 7,000 people in surrounding areas.

In addition to serving congregants at the church, Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church invites volunteers to help serve in the community. From February 3-10, 2018, volunteers venture to Honduras to provide fluoride treatments to children and reading glasses to adults. The trip occurs in and around Tela, Honduras, and volunteers also have a chance to work on a nearby construction project.
